For any Lake District Wedding Photographer shooting a Wedding at Low Wood Bay is close to a photographer’s dream come true!

Not only is Low Wood Bay a truly stunning venue inside, but a VERY short (and potentially dangerous lol) walk away is a marina, with a jetty you have easy access too – giving a background of lake Windermere, mountains and sailing boats – what more could you want !!!

When Sam & Alex chose me as their Low Wood Bay Wedding Photographer and I couldn’t have been happier 🙂

Sam is not only a beautiful & lovely young woman, but also a very strong one too as she’s a Cancer survivor. Her hair hadn’t regrown sufficiently from being lost to Chemotherapy, so her flowing locks are actually a wig – and being a proper Yorkshire lass she paid just £40 for it too !!! Making it far less than an actual hair-stylist’s rate for their Wedding would have been lol

Alex has also earned a multitude of merits from variously family members in their speeches, for being ever attentive to Sam and helping her through to this wonderful day 🙂

Now is probably a good time to start off with a few Preparation photos (“Prep” being the usual term for Getting Ready)

A Wedding Ceremony inside Low Wood Bay’s magnificent hall is always special – and especially as it starts with an unusually LONG walk both in & out lol

Once outside for drinks, its usual to then have a 10mins or so ‘congrats’ with one’s Family & Guests, then we’re into the time to chuck something at the B&G !!!

While there is gravel available – most people choose to have Confetti, and again Low Wood Bay’s garden is a perfect size for this even with 100+ Guests

Sam & Alex did have some Group photos, but they kept their list short & manageable; as in, manageable for them not me! I really don’t mind if you want me to shoot 30+ Group photos, but m 17 years’ experience tells me that much over 10 Groups and the couple gets bored!

You REALLY don’t want to be BORED on your Wedding Day !!!

Next comes candids and speeches, so lets cut to a few more shots of Sam & Alex’s Wedding just to give a feel of the fun

Sam’s Dad did make one joke about Sam of merit, in that its probably the rudest one I’ve ever heard a Dad say of his daughter! 😀

Here we simply nipped across (ok RAN !!!) the road and onto the grassed area leading to the marina

For Photographers – well I assume they built it for us – there’s a jetty on the right hand side that’s just perfect for photos

Sam had a VERY long veil so I had to try & get a few shots with it in, usually a breeze is needed for this but there was NONE – not so much as a mere occasional puff of wind – so I had to waff it about and shoot at the same time

It took a LOT of photos to get these lol

Once back across the main road I noticed someone had brought their pooch out to greet them, and there was a bench too available; so my last shot of the day is Sam & Alex and their pooch. A VERY happy shot to end my attendance 🙂
