Lancaster Wedding Photographer at The Ro Hotel

One of the best things about being a Lake District Wedding Photographer is, quite simply, getting to shoot Weddings in the stunning English Lake District 🙂

And what a better way to enjoy this most beautiful part of the North-West of England, than to have your Wedding at a hotel overlooking the Lakes’ largest and most famous lake, Windermere

Which is exactly what Ellen & Craig did for their recent Wedding at The Ro Hotel, which overlooks lake Windermere and is just a short walk from the main shops in the lower part of Bowness, and of course the lake itself

Now pretty much ANY Lake District Wedding is going to be special, regardless of the weather, but how much more special is it when you have your Pooch with you too (here it was Arthur – great doggy name lol), and then to also go on a boat !!!

Now of course you can’t have a Wedding this close to lake Windermere and not go to the lake for photos can you!

Can you not?

Surprisingly, about half of all of my couples who come to the Lakes for their own amazing Wedding don’t want to go to the lake for photos! As a Wedding Photographer in the Lake District that just seems a bit odd to me, but whatever, its the couple’s day I suppose – not mine 😀

Thankfully, it was a TOP priority for Ellen & Craig, so despite the rain, off we went to my FAVE local spot at Millerground (not the main bit, the bit where the locals go)

We managed to have a great time at the lake and create a great set of photos, but Ellen’s dress did suffer somewhat, and she came back dirty and what seemed like 5 lbs or more heavier as it soaked up so much water!

A few groups & hilarious Speeches followed, and then…

I’m not sure there’s any local places for a Lancaster Wedding Photographer to get on a boat, but of course in the Lake District there are many chances to add this bit of fun into your Lakes’ Wedding PLAN 🙂

Top Tip though – even on a warm & sunny day, as soon as you’re out on the lake itself its a lot COLDER than on the shore – so take a coat 😀

I hope these next few photos inspire you too to take your Guests out on a cruise on a lake; but if its not within your Budget, you can always hire one of the wee boats and just the three of us can go – Sod the Guests !!! lol
